Mission Biomethan: Biomethan im EU-Energiemix

Mission Biomethane: Biomethane in the EU energy mix – best practices and regulatory hurdles

With its RePowerEU action plan, the European Commission clearly highlights the pivotal role of biomethane in the energy mix of the future and sets ambitious targets for the expansion of biomethane production in Europe. In this webinar, we take a look at the current developments in the ramp-up of biomethane production in Europe. In doing so, we will examine how these European targets are being implemented in practice in national markets and where there is still room for improvement in the German market. The focus here is on best practices from France and insights into the market ramp-up in Germany. Together, we will also discuss key regulatory issues, such as the development of the Union Database for mass balance, which is intended to serve as the basis for recording data for the operation of biogas and biomethane plants.

Mission Biomethane – Status, Structure and Outlook

Mission Biomethane: Status, Structure and Outlook

In our first webinar from the ‘Mission Biomethane’ series, we would like to take an in-depth look at the current biomethane market: what structures and stakeholders are shaping the sector? How do project developers and operators of biomethane plants calculate costs? And how are off-take and production capacities developing? In addition to contextualising the overall energy market and taking stock of production, feed-in and utilisation, we will also discuss expansion pathways and scaling prospects from a practical perspective. Furthermore, we will introduce the Biomethane Taskforce and its objectives for further market dialogue.
